Woods are delighted to participate in the CITB Construction Ambassador Scheme. Robert Pryer our SHE Manager will be completing his training in early July.

The aim of Construction Ambassadors is to encourage and inspire potential new employees into joining the construction industry. Robert says “It’s a challenging and rewarding role and gives the company the chance to promote all the good things that we do. It is a role that can involve anything from school visits, attending career fairs or mentoring somebody considering a career at Woods.”

We will be presenting examples of our work to potential employees and by showing career paths relevant to our industry. We will demonstrate to young people that Woods is open to all and that there are no barriers to career progression. We will show the construction workers of tomorrow that there are many rewarding career paths on offer and our Robert will demonstrate how his role is an integral part of the business as well as explaining the crucial roles of operatives, supervisors, surveyors, managers and admin staff.

Contacts Director Dave Pienaar says “We are delighted to be part of this scheme. It is of great benefit to young people considering a career in the construction industry and this scheme will allow them to get a taste of what we do. It will also benefit us by getting the chance to recruit the best and brightest young people who wish to pursue a career at Woods.” Training is provided by the CITB through the Essex Construction Training Association (ECTA) which Woods joined in 2016 and has become a valuable training resource.
