The Cavendish London Hotel is a 230 bedroom, 4 star deluxe hotel situated on prestigious Jermyn Street, in the heart of Mayfair parallel to Piccadilly in Central London. The present building was opened as a hotel in 1966, when it was considered one of the most modern hotels of its kind at the time.
As part of a major refurbishment project AA Woods were commissioned by The Cavendish London to remove AIB debris to ceiling voids, risers, meeting rooms and basement plantrooms including the full decontamination of the ceiling void above the entire main reception area accessed via a dancefloor scaffold.
As the hotel was to remain fully operational during the works, the project required careful planning in close collaboration with the client.
A key consideration at planning stage was ensuring the works were carefully segregated from hotel guests, staff and members of the public. This included constructing a temporary canopy over the rear courtyard which ensured guests were unable to view the daily activities of our site teams, including transiting procedures.
The loading and unloading of waste materials was undertaken out of hours utilising a collection service to avoid the need to site a sealed waste container.
