We are a leading specialist in environmental services, renowned for our multi-disciplined, skills-based approach to tackling even the most challenging projects. Our highly trained, nationwide workforce is dedicated to delivering expert execution across a diverse range of disciplines.

We pride ourselves on offering comprehensive solutions, including soft strip demolition, asbestos remediation, land remediation, lead paint removal, and reinstatement services. Our commitment ensures the continued safety and integrity of buildings throughout the UK and beyond.

Asbestos Removal
AA Woods is licensed by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) to remove and dispose of asbestos containing materials (ACM’s). We employ in excess of 150 dedicated, loyal, experienced and highly-trained (in house) Supervisors and Operatives.

We provide a comprehensive range of asbestos remediation services that comply with our clients' legal obligations and responsibilities. We are equipped to manage out-of-hours work, emergency responses and surges in demand.
Land Remediation
Land remediation aims to restore land to an acceptable condition by resolving or treating problems caused by contamination in soil and water. We manage land remediation projects from initial consultation through to sampling, operation, removal, monitoring and validation. Services include excavation, haulage and disposal of contaminated soils using our highly trained management and workforce.

We apply our specialist knowledge and expertise within contracting to manage risks, maximise the benefits of resource recovery / reclaim materials and where possible provide significant savings over disposal to landfill.
Lead Paint Removal
AA Woods undertakes every aspect of lead paint removal using highly trained site teams and the latest technology. Lead in paint presents a significant number of health risks if disturbed or released and as such is controlled by its own set of regulations, the Control of Lead at Work (CLAW) Regulations 2002.

Lead can cause serious health problems such as anaemia or kidney disease and research has linked exposure to a small number of occupational cancers. Lead can be found in construction workplaces and is commonly used as a specialist material and is present in many older buildings. A lead survey should be undertaken initially to determine the location and severity of any contamination.
Enabling
AA Woods offer soft strip demolition as part of any enabling works prior to asbestos removal. Our clients often prefer to procure the soft strip and removal to AA Woods as one package to reduce costs and programme and to ensure the soft strip does not disturb the asbestos.

We remove all services, fixtures and fittings, internal walls and ceilings and employ trained asbestos electricians to assist with isolations where required.
Reinstatement
We offer a multi-disciplined service capable of delivering refurbishment schemes post asbestos removal services for commercial and domestic clients throughout the UK. We provide minimal disruption to the client, removing asbestos safely in controlled conditions and reinstating materials to meet specific requirements.

Our clients often prefer to procure the removal and reinstatement to AA Woods as one package to reduce costs, programme and disruption to the client and / or resident.

Asbestos - The Facts
Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous material regularly used in building work from the 1950’s up until the late 1990’s. Any building built or refurbished before the year 2000 may contain asbestos. Asbestos was often used as an insulation and fireproofing material and is regularly found in products such as ceiling tiles, pipe insulation, boilers, sprayed coatings and garage roofs. There are three main types of asbestos, chrysolite (white), amosite (brown), and crocidolite (blue).

Removing asbestos is particularly dangerous as the fibres become harmful when disturbed and released into the atmosphere. The risk of releasing these dangerous fibres is particularly high without proper training, equipment and control measures. If handled incorrectly and inhaled these fibres can cause serious asbestos related diseases. It can take as little as 10 years and up to 50 years to develop these diseases depending on exposure. Asbestos exposure causes 5,000 deaths every year, vastly more than the number of people killed on UK roads.
Technology
We operate a cloud-based business platform that standardises the way our staff undertake business critical tasks, providing them with the necessary tools to aid them in completing their job more efficiently. Each Site Team is assigned a ‘tablet’ handheld device which allows them to access all work instructions and relevant documentation required for the task. This platform streamlines the management of asbestos contract processes and adherence to sector legislation.

Planned and responsive works such as risk assessments, re-inspections, asbestos removal and containment are effectively scheduled and managed. The system digitally deploys compliance checklists and records key data on ACM’s, air testing, waste consignment, exposure rates, H&S, staff training and sustainability. A centralised management dashboard allows multiple sites to be monitored in real time and records of scheduled works are updated instantly.
Skills and Training
We recognise the value and importance of providing opportunities to staff to develop their job related knowledge and skills and expect that with development and training, individual effectiveness and motivation will increase.

All our staff are continuously assessed through audit and competency checks carried out by our Compliance Team, Managers and Site Supervisors. This information is gathered to enable us to produce a relevant training needs analysis (TNA) programme delivered using our state of the art training facility, ensuring all individuals’ needs are met.
