Nationwide Hazardous Management

University College London (UCL)

Founded in 1826 in the heart of London, UCL is London’s leading multidisciplinary University, with more than 13,000 staff and 42,000 students from 150 different countries.

We are the sole service provider for asbestos removal services and we deliver a wide range of asbestos remediation services across the UCL estate including planned estates development projects and planned strategic maintenance projects in addition to emergency works and general building repairs.

Recent works included the removal of asbestos insulation residues to high level services and associated cement render to the ceiling and high level walls within the Egyptian Archaeology Plant Room to facilitate on-going large scale maintenance works.

The plantroom is a major energy centre and remained live throughout the works and was undertaken in nine separate phases, all removal works were carried out using a bespoke scaffold to each phase that was constructed to create and maintain an enclosed walkway beneath each enclosure to allow continued access to critical plant and machinery throughout the projects duration.
