Nationwide Hazardous Management

Transport for London (TfL)

The TfL Lost Property Office was established in 1933 in Baker Street, Central London and has processed more than 15 million items of property since. Each of these items have been dutifully catalogued and stored for a period of three months, pending hopeful restoration to grateful owners.

As a TfL framework contractor, AA Woods were instructed to undertake complex asbestos removal and re-insulation works to ceiling voids to both the Lost Property and adjoining Revenue Control Office to facilitate the installation of a new fire alarm system upgrade.

The works involved the removal of insulation residues to pipes, beams and walls within the ceiling voids and required the installation of a bespoke scaffold birdcage to be erected to enable the removal works to be undertaken within these voids and still enable the Lost Property and Revenue Control office to remain fully operational during the course of our works.
